NewR3 Exhaust on my Rocket

Both of the NewR3 options sound great. I have TORS because they work well and are a cost effective option. Have same concerns about spending too much on a "compromise" system and also having any more heat against my leg. And I don't like the swept back look of Carpenter pipes or Preds. Perfect Storms seem to come closest but unless i mug Gothlander doubt I'd get my hands on a set. They'll (TORS) do me for now until something that does it all comes along.

The TORs will do for now . . . BUT; they are so **** big ass and bodacious looking!
A 3 into 1 with more room for when I want to use big panniers on a long trip would be real nice.

Wrap that stock header system in cotton wool when you remove it .. Triumph wants $1,700AUD for a new one. That's just the bare manifold , none of the heatsheilds or chrome covers. Priced a new one a while back.

How about 103.84 EUR? The rest of the shields and so forth are around as well.

I don't know if this helps any but I rode a Classic with Jardines not long ago and couldn't tell any difference far as heat coming off the header. It felt like I was riding my Roadster which has the manifold.


Interesting find:

-Jardine Full Roadster System= $1,349 (most complete/ best performance. Unverified)
-Triumph Off Road cans= $499.99 (Great fit and finish for good price.)
-Staintune cat eliminating collector= $449.00 (Necessary to get rid of all cats.)
-Jardine header= $? (never priced it out individually, but I assume it's possible.)
-Roadster Performance Exhaust= $1,099 ( Cans from newR3.com. Looks like crap, made by people who make the shorties)
-Staintune cans and cat eliminating collector system = $1,099.00 (Looks good and most likely different sounding than TORS. Unverified.)

I wouldn't expect the Jardine header to be much different to the stock manifold in terms of heat. It's the overlaying of the pipes in the other headers that push at least one of the pipes a further couple of inches out from the engine and up against your leg that makes them so much hotter.

Your "interesting find" is not quite right, by the way. To remove cats on a Roadster you only need to replace the cans eg Jardine; or pipes such as TORs or Staintune; or 3 into 1 such as Reband, Carpenter etc. On a three pipe bike, there's only 1 cat and you can eliminate that in a number of ways - eg Triumph by-pass, Jardine system, 3 into 2 single side such as D&D or Thunderbike, any 3 into 1, or even Roadster TORs or Staintunes with any crossover.

And I have to disagree that the 2 pipe performance pipes from NewR3 look like crap. They look a hell of a lot better than the stock Roadster sized pipes (including TORs or Staintune), which are way too big in my opinion.
