My buddy just bought a 700 hp supercharged mustang gt 50 and it through a cat code right away, I told him he probably has to put some kinda plug to trick the computer to think there's a cat there, cause everything is custom it's an 15, with 66,000 on it and he bought it at CarMax so has no idea who built the thing or when, has no idea what kinda maintenance is going to have to be done on the thing or how often. This is going to be interesting .
Hey I just realized your from the state where everything is bigger my town is mostly farms, but I grew up a few town's away and it's all City folk's now, and no more farm's, it was sad when I was growing up to see it happening, my father had a feed and seed company and Agway came and put him out of business, big bummer, God bless America, she's gonna need it. if it has 4 o2 sensors it is going to have to have cats to keep lite off
what is the code/codes?
some one that is half way good can bring the o2 sensors up (like in an graph form ) and tell what the problem is. the codes will tell whats wrong most of the times.

But wouldn't you be able to add something like a lamda plug to fool the computer into thinking the cat is there and working, I think there's only one after the cat that would have to be changed, cause usually there's one before the cat and one after, the one before shouldn't change no?? Or do they charge the fuel air ratios too, I never changed the pipes before, and my R3T is an 08 and only has the one before and it just reads the O² for the ratio right? And why do I see some guys put a lamda sensor on the rocket, what exactly is a lambda sensor?? I guess I can Google that and find out just thinking out loud trying to learn new tricks for this old dog shade tree mechanic, Jack of all trades master of none. Well I'm a professional stationary engineer, so I like to know what makes things tic thanks turbo and if you don't want to waste your time teaching this old dog I'll understand, I see you a lot on here, hopefully it doesn't turn into political here and everything has to be politically correct like FactBook hahahaha, I took all my info off there after they started taking post's down, I wonder if you talk about religion on there if they would be that correct, fact checkers F yourself anybody have a chocolate and vanilla shake

The rocket is a good example of a o2 sensor in front of the cat so when u remove the cat the ecu does not know it is gone.
When there is one in front and one behind the ecu is measuring gas mixtures going in and then doing a comparison after it goes through the cat to see if the cat is doing it's job. So if the cats bad it will set a code.
Of coarse any sensor that is bad will set a code even on a good working system.
