Just put on a new set of Bridgestones just over a month ago and found a slow leak yesterday on the rear. Lost about 10psi overnight. Used the soapy water trick and found the puncture. Smaller than a nail, like a piece of wire.

My dealership is 115 miles away. There's a Victory dealership (closed Mondays, of course) in town that I could nurse it to if they'll even touch the thing.

I guess my question is this, can I trust a plug on these huge ass tires? I don't think I want to trust my life to Slime or Ride-On but should I trust it to a plug? I'm going to be out of town starting a week from tomorrow, then home for 4 days then riding the Rocket to Arizona. Time is seriously running out for me.

Pic (it is tiny, right in the middle of the shot, in the tread groove):

IMHO I wouldn't use a plug in the tyre as it's only a temporary fix.I would call the Victory shop and ask them if they could do it. Some of their bikes have 250 section rear tyres fitted and If you could get the rear wheel off it would probably make it easier for them.

I got a leak dead center in the tread on the rear tire of my Sprint when I had that. Brand new set of Pirelli's too. I almost cried.

It was a wee little one like yours. I did the slime treatment and it held to upwards of 100mph. I wouldn't worry about spiking the tire. It will work and hold.

If you have balance beads in the tire don't. Otherwise it is just a mess at the next tire change.

So you're saying my new tire is junk? :(

Well, considering I'm planning on putting over 3000 miles on it right after Memorial Day (late May), I ordered a new rear from BikeBandit, $151 (with AMA discount) plus express shipping. :: sigh ::

back in the early years when I still had the pos metzler, a plug worked just fine.

go darkside and you don't have to worry about it anymore.

Good call .Your life is worth a lot more than $150 if anything was to go bad. Al
