New Rocketeer in Japan this Christmas!

Welcome mate from the UK, question as part of the Japanese riding test do they/you still have lift the bike up if it’s laid on its side?

They actually do! Not part of the test but when you do the lessons and test through a riding school like I did they do check that you are capable of it. It was actually something I did on the very first lesson day for the medium class license (up to ~400cc which you need to do before you can take school / test for large). It was an old 200kg CB400SF in my case. They didn't require I do it again during the large bike test schooling though likely as no real need to do it twice (I did medium then Large license schooling and tests back to back over a two month period).

If that's all you eat at a meal you must be a real skinny guy?

Welcome from Montreal ,Canada . Bienvenue! & A Happy New Year

Happy New Year!

I was hoping to be able to ride it a bit more this week since I am off but as luck would have it I ended up catching a nasty bug that has been going around here.

My Christmas/retirement gift to myself as well except Storm GT in "Pacific Blue". Had it delivered a few days before Christmas here in NE Ohio. Dec 28th it was dry and 58F so I took my first cruise of 50 miles. I assumed that Trump's threatened tariffs would push the price up so I found a local dealer that had one in stock. They were willing to deal on it and included a MadStad aftermarket adjustable windscreen. I too got the battery tender, and a nice Triumph armored leather jacket on sale. Santa was good!

Now I can't wait for the spring! Safe travels & enjoy your new ride!

Felt better over the weekend and managed to take it out for a ride up into the mountains a bit. Really enjoy riding this thing and it carries its weight pretty well for being as large as it is.

As you can imagine as there really aren't many of these around on the roads here it seems to get quite a bit of attention. Stopped at a conbini (convenience store) for a quick break and some fried chicken and people were gawking at it in the lot.
