Tis called a "loop-back" lacing technique.
My reasons are: Comfort - Ease of Adjustment & Coolness.
These laces shall not be untied on a regular basis and I can easily adjust firmness at different locations from the top down along my tender reconstructed leg and ankle.

I like the Justin boots and over the years I've had a few pair. I used to always wear Red Wings, but they became harder to find locally. With these "engineer" style boots, my right pant leg would ride up, and then not return, leaving the right leg exposed to cold air in winter.

About 9 years ago I got a pair if Sidi Vertigo Corsa boots (no longer available) and I was impressed with their quality, rebuildability, and comfort. So that put me on a Sidi track.

I currently wear a pair of Sidi sport type boots on sport bikes, and these

SIDI Adventure Gore-Tex Boots

on the Rocket or Tiger. I guess they're on close out now.

I really like the Gore-Tex boots because you never know when you'll be caught in the rain, and Gore-Tex breaths so it's ok at other times too.

The big plus to the Sidi boots is their protection, and another big plus is that many protective and fitting parts are bolt on and readily available. So once you have a pair, you can fix them rather than replace them.

Agree regarding Gore-Tex - a great product!
Personally, I do not want huge, heavy, ultra-stiff boots for on-road touring where much time is spent a-foot off the motor and walking.
In order to fit my wide, high arch feet, I had to go with Danner Boots.
Could NOT find an adequate motor boot in E+ widths.

I used to wear the same boots on the bike as walking at destination, and those fancy Italian boots are really comfortable. But I don't any more. The pairs I've worn on bike and for walking get worn down with the walking and since the protection is expensive, I switch to walking shoes when I get where I'm going.

I do the same once settled for a night or three, but during the ride there is frequent walking involved as well where changing shoes is NOT practical.
