new r3r in otown...

Can you tell us more about yourself, where are you from... what did you ride before... why did you chose the R3?

sure... been riding since i was 5 (pipe frame sears briggs and stratton mini bike) through a bunch of horribly abused 2 wheelers until i bought the r3r monday...

i had a 2006 vtx1800f spec 3 for the last couple years that a buddy of mine wanted to buy, so i sold it to him and rewarded myself for working hard with the r3r... of course 2 months ago i rewarded myself with a 2012 suzuki dl1000 adventure (just a dl 1000 with matching luggage)... i think very highly of myself, and think i deserve nice bikes... ;p

been in orlando for 20 years this time, started out in the sf valley (just north of los angeles) but followed the $$$ to otown... no regrets, la sux...

actually went into the dealer looking for a 1700 storm (i'm a twin kind of guy at heart)... 1) they wanted the same $$$ for the storm and the r3r; 2) i don't like moving backwards in displacement; 3) i'm 6'5" and the storm looked kind of puny in person; 4) the r3r was sitting there looking so unloved i just couldn't stand it; 5) it's big, kind of goofy looking and obnoxious - just like me!!!; 6) i test rode it...; 7) i got almost 20% off the list price...

done deal... i can't see how anyone with an ounce of crazy left in their blood that could not buy one of these things after a ride...

good post.
BTW
I just hope that your NOT thin Skinned. Some have taken easy offence.
And you don't intend plugging a non motorcycle book on the site.
I say this cos it just does not work....

all my skin has been road-rashed into armadillo thickness...

Welcome from Colorado; Good choice and you're right on the money when you said anyone with an ounce of crazy could not resist buying this bike. Enjoy...

Yup, Florida is a place you can ride all year long, as long as you don't mind getting wet once in awhile. Welcome from Labelle Florida, or as I like to call it, "Lahell".:p
