New place for the water bottle

Ok, well I have a confession to make. The thread describing how to do that conversion said to add coolant to compensate for the 5 feet of hose needed to relocate the bottle to underseat and I didn't do that so I probably don't have enough coolant. So now I need to top off the radiator. Can I use water for that or is there some special coolant I need to use or can I mix any antifreeze with the existing?

Thanks, RC. Well, at least I was careful to preserve the fluid that was already in the line and bottle and so at least I didn't lose any. Geez how much can 5 feet of that hose hold anyways? But as for bleeding the air out, I probably have a minor problem on my hands. maybe I'll just wait for the 20k service and ask the dealer to add more for me rather than upset the chemistry. BTW what are you doing up so early it must be 4am there.

Yeah Baby Yeah!!! I'm waiting with bells on to hear about the Dyno results. Hope they are high!! I'd really like to hear that the Zard performs well. They look so cool. I'll check first thing in the a.m. ok? That'd be in 12 or 13 hours.

Jimmy the maual calls for a 50% mix of Ethylene glycol (that's half and half DISTILLED water and glycol antifreeze). No tap water or bottled water! The little ions of minerals in the water do naughty things with the electrons from the Aluminum engine. Don't go there! Do you have the stock overflow bottle under the seat? Fill it with coolant, loosen the hose for the overflow AT THE RADIATOR and squeeze the bottle gently and steadily until coolant weeps at the connection. Retighten the hose clamp and your hose will be full. Recheck the bottle and refill if necessary. I bet the hose has already "Burped".

My God, Doc, that is the most systematic primer I've ever seen. I'm going to do just that and in fact I'm printing your instructions out so I can show them to the judge when my engine seizes. I can't go to court completely unprepared, now can I????

Oh I forgot. I'm not a shark I'm a Dolphin. So Thanks Buddy for the instruction and I'll follow it to the letter.

You're a good friend, Doc. :)

Why did I go into so much detail about the nasty little ions? Don't go there, but suffice it to say that the purchaser of that car had FULL disclosure, I showed him all the damage. (All of my mechanical skills have been acquirred by destroying one of everything I ever work on, thankfully my medical education was better organized!)
