New pipes are in the post..

Ah yes the struggle over the budget. My wife frowned on me considering a $2400 watch. The one I really like is considerably higher:rolleyes:
Get a cheap one that runs slow - you will have more time in every day to do things and live longer to boot! ;):D

Been out and about today to see if there is any difference between new and old style pipes. With the new pipes, no banging, popping or huge explosions even on the over run which is a blessing. I will be getting the bike tuned and put on the dyno in the not too distant future just to make sure everything is just right. I also want to know what the figures are. It feels a lot smoother, and I couldn't fault the responsiveness to the throttle, the roll on in top gear from 1200rpm..just so SWEET! I wanted to try around town, cruising at 'legal' speeds on the wider stretches and a full blast flat out down the motorway. Unfortunately, I live in the south of England, at one of the holiday spots. It's Saturday, and all the roads are clogged with holiday makers including the nearest motorway so all I managed was a lot of round town s#it! Maybe next time..:thumbsup::thumbsup:
Edit: The sound...the one thing you were all wanting to know. They produce a clearer, deeper sound than the pRatt specials, they don't have that sharpness to the tone that hurts the ears. It's more of a deep baritone sound that just gets better the faster you go, and I've only had one complaint from the neighbours so far!

Have to tuck em in - catch on the end of gear lever otherwise and that produces an amusing spectacle when trying to change gear for other road users
Or when trying to put your foot down when you stop ! Nothing more embarrassing than stopping at a junction , balancing to the left to cover the rear brake and falling over like a sack of ****e coz your trouser leg is caught on the footrest ! That said , my mate Jeff the leg has a prosthetic and rides his bikes with modified controls . He has to physically place and unplace his left leg on the peg , I have watched him go over so many times after not managing to balance his bike to the right quick enough !
