New Member / Old Rider

Lord  didn't realise Texas was part of the bible belt.. g'day and welcome from one of the heathen Aussies.

Tomcat,

To be quite honest I think that Texas is the Bible Belt Buckle.

If you're a heathen you'd fit right in. We wash up nice on Sunday the rest of the week is free game!

From Tacoma, WA to somewhere in TX, WELCOME!
So . . . just how old is an "Old Rider"???
 :p

1olbull,

Not old in age, old in many years and too many miles of riding to count.

Thanks for the warm welcome from Grand Prairie Texas

Now that is a thing of beauty. The simplicity and craftsmanship of pre-1970 motorcycles and cars will always amaze me.

I would love to get an Indian 841 in my garage and bring it back to life.

Always was a stable of 6 or more Indians around our house when I was growing up.
At 14 I used to sneak out the Warrior - it was the smallest one until an Arrow showed up.

Wow, that's a great way to grow up!

The Arrow was the single 200 cc wasn't it? Small and nimble.

I grew up on dirt bikes, moved up to a few hand built Harley pans and shovels I could scrounge parts to Frankenstein together. Built two Guzzi's too.

I still have my dads 73 AMF sportster in the garage. It's been drained and winterized for the past 8 years or so. When I get a little extra $ I'll get it back on the street. Bikes like it are rare, most Harley's around here only see about 2,000 miles a year. It has 116k miles on it all original.

Darn, an AMF with that kind of mileage?!?!?!?
I use to ride those on the PD and they were toast by 10K miles.
Yours must be real rare indeed!
