Hello @aviation1972 and welcome from a displaced Texan in Virginia. That Sturgis trip should be real easy just jump on I25 and head north. Set the odometer to 85 and lean back to enjoy the ride.
You may want to get accustomed to the new ride first before you start working her over with new performance mods. She is quite capable as she is. So far I have only replaced stock pipes with the Tors, look the same but have a slightly larger diameter and with the new tune, a few more ponies. The tone is nice too and no one complains in the neighborhood like they do about the V-Twin crowd. Good luck and make sure you hug that wife!
