Clear plastic is the problem. Almost everything damages it and water is the worst. It is composed of interlaced hydrocarbon molecules that are easily penetrated and cracked. It isn't like glass. Almost all of the failures have water trapped inside that expands and ruptures the plastic. The little hydroscopic "membrane" on the vent plug is insufficient. Keep it cool, out of the water, and sun as much as possible if you expect it to last. This issue needs a recall status as some dealers are gouging us on replacements.

i was REALLY hoping that triumph would update this on the 2025 models...the tft not only has this problem but is also way too small to read in most modes. can't understand why triumph won't update this and make it sturdier as well...even replacing it with the tiger 1200 tft would be a nice upgrade...they have the ability.

Interesting that it's not from too much heat. I live in Texas and our summer rides are usually in the high 90's F. I purchased my bike last November and I've been covering the display when I stop for whatever reason. So far no cracks, fingers crossed.

I don't see how the little stick on pieces would prevent it. Seems like they might even channel water under the bezel, between the strips, sit there and do more damage. We can only hope for a recall change or continued goodwill to replace them. But even then, like the rear brake recalls, it might not make much difference. Same problem again with mine.

I look at it differently Stingray and I have them on my panel. The little strips of clear plastic actually hold the entire Instrument panel together. I was thinking of taking the clear sheets off but I feel the entire panel would crumble in my hands if I did. Seriously though...It would.
