New Lithium battery

hell I can bearly spell, pictures are definetly out of the question, but I can tell ya I tapped into a wire under the exhaust side side cover,.here I found wires for the headlight and the starter there and installed a relay for each, now the headlight and starter work as they were suppose to. there is a sticky thread ''when your starter goes click'', that outlines exactly which color wires and there is a diagram .I believe it is authored by honker.hope this helps,the results on my bike were dramatic.

Yeah it is pricey..... that's about half the cost of a header.

Somethings are more important however.

I have seen them on sale now and then and whats a couple hundred bucks more when it comes to motorcycle parts and a good header costs a lot more and you should buy that also LOL

So, my continued saga of poor electric capacity has driven me to a third battery. This one is from Battery Tender and is a lithium fellow rated at 480 CCAs.
My 310 CCA Vatra left me stranded at work Friday when Temps were just a few degrees below freezing. Had to get a coworker jump start it after I unsuccessfully tried rolling starts twice. (I left it at the bottom of the hill after the second try. Pushing Brahma up a hill is a once a day endeavor).
Anyway, another cool feature to the BT battery is it has an extra set of terminals thus I can hook the accessory cables separate from the bike leads.
I used the supplied spacers with the battery as lithium takes up less space.
I'll let you know how this one works over the winter...

I now declare this battery to be another winter POS item! It will start the bike at 22F after letting it 'warm up' by having the ignition on for 15 minutes or so. However, at 20F, it will only allow 2 revolutions of the engine even after 20 minutes of warm up time and attempting to jump start it with my cage. Absolutly unsatisfactory!!! 480 Amps my butt. Maybe if it is a warm day, but not on a cold one. I hate it when the bike won't start, ruins my whole morning...

I have had a lithium and glass mat (AGM) battery in my bikes, and and as long as it is warm out, no problems, i had to put the triumph over to a sealed lead acid battery for the cold weather, i looked at what worked in the ski-doo's and went with that, i never have a problem starting the sleds even when it is -40 out, it's a heavier battery, but at least i know the bike will start no matter what

Its probably like Ken said these types of batteries are nlt optimal in. Old weather conditions. Although I only start mine in the winter and never ride until spring and no frost conditions. Which my bones agree with anyway
I do use both types in my bike and give up some room in the airbox. Never had a starting problem no matter how cold it gets. I have been using the standard scorpion battery 320 cca and a 600 amp lithium speed cell. In fact the only cold weather problems I've had was getting my lazy arse to go outside period

I'm looking at engine block heaters and battery warmers now. Maybe one of these will work. How does a dang snowmobile start in subzero temperatures?!?

surprisingly they start really easy both pull start and electric start, and run great in the cold, i have never had to boost one, and up north it normal for them to be outside in -20 to -40 for days and weeks at a time with nothing but a tarp over them
