I am not a big guy 6,1 200lbs my young (bigger) brother 6,4 250 lbs and I both found the Touring was a nice comfortable ride for the taller blokes, the upright riding position and floorboards give you lots of alternate foot placement and a set of engine bar pegs complete the package

if u post or update your avatar there might be some one near u that can help u out.
i like my classic there r some that has had trans problems and a lot more that has not. the later with abs is a plus. when i was looking i watched craglist arizona texas oklahome and nevada seem to be the lowest prices. there r a couple here that r decent in price and probably get them down a little.
i flew to nevada and drove mine back.

Sent you a PM Glen.

Hello Glen and welcome from Virginia. You can always put engine bars and highway pegs on the R#R for when you want to stretch out.

Well I have concluded I want the abs on the bike. My Speedie had abs and it was a nice feature that I used when practicing emergency stops to dial in my panicked handful of brakes.

I am currently talking to a dealer who has a 16’ model year Roadster that I am trying to get a good deal on. I’m trying to figure out how much is a good deal as well.

If it's brand new shoot for well under sticker....like 11,500. maybe 12,500. Of course if you really want it and he won't budge...offer his price, but make it an out the door price, where the price you bid or he asks for covers tax title and tags.

I got my 2015 R3T new off the floor in November of 2016 out the door for $14,500.00

They should be willing to deal

I was thinking the same thing. Sit on a touring model and see if that fits you better.

I won't talk to anybody about anything unless it's a total "out the door" price. All those hidden items add up quickly. Tax, Title, tag, shipping, dealer prep, on and on. Took me almost an hour to get an out the door price on the 2016 Jeep I bought. I told them I was paying cash in full, "IF" they came up with a number I liked. Well, they kept coming up with numbers, and when I said OK, they then started adding all the BS. When I finally started walking, they got the point, and gave me a total figure. BTW, I'd never go back to that dealer, even for warranty work. Bunch of crooks. Bought my 2013 Rocket Roadster, sight unseen. Called the dealer on the phone, asked for an out the door price, he gave me one, and a $500 military discount, and I went and got a certified check. Got a ride to the dealer, handed them the check, and still had not even seen or ridden the bike. I'm sure they thought I was full of chit, until they had the check in hand. Got mine for $16,000 total, title, tag, tire and wheel warranty, etc. etc.

Placed the deposit on a 2016 Rocket III Roadster today. It’s a brand new leftover Black with red stripes. Going to pick it up at the end of January. Hopefully I get a nice weekend to make the 258 mile ride. Managed an out the door price of $13,250.

Thank you all for the input. I’m stoked to have a ridable motorcycle in my possession soon!! Definitely can’t wait to do some riding this year.
