"New" 2013 R3T-to flash or not to flash?

The question of whether to tune now or to wait is really up to you. You seem concerned about your warranty. Any time you modify a vehicle under warranty you run the risk of having issues should you need coverage. Some dealers are quite liberal when it comes to that and others, not so much. Are you willing to accept the responsibility if the worst should happen and you were denied warranty coverage?
I tuned mine almost immediately. I also changed the intake and exhaust. I've done the same thing to every car I've owned. Luckily I've not had any warranty related issues so its not been a problem. That said, if I was denied coverage I would have to suck it up and pay. That's just the price we pay for not waiting for the warranty to expire.
Like I said, its really up to you and your tolerance for risk.

He wrote for bone stock or with slip-ons in the post. I've run it a while now on a totally stock bike and it has worked perfectly, and does great things for how the bike performs.

If you look at the tune, you will see it is built off of 20368, which is for Triumph TORs. His tune has exactly the same F tables as 20368. It is considerably richer than the stock muffler tune (20367). I think by stock, Tripp meant Triumph TORs versus aftermarket mufflers.

I got my new 2013 R3T carryover at the end of last season. Only manage about 1700 miles on the beast as we had an early winter here in Michigan. I have around 5000 miles on it so far, but I also bought an extended/aftermarket warranty for 6 years. From the dealer. I have everything ready including a Lonetec Cable, TuneECU, all my drivers on my laptop are setup, but it's a dilemma....flash or not to flash. The bike is still stock and I don't plan on any major changes at this point. I have to say.... I don't know why we want more power and the best performance possible, but we do. It's not like I'm racing people all the time, so what am I going to do with the added performance except smile more. I'm old, so that will just add more lines to my face. The bike performs well as is and certainly meets my riding needs, but the thought of making it better and faster is hard to ignore. For now I guess I'll just stand pat...maybe next year or after the first tire change. I will say, I had a issue early on with the GPS (Gear Position Sensor)...I think I'll resist the temptation a little while longer making sure another bug doesn't crop up. Knowing I can change it up anytime I want to will have to do for now. With all that said, I will be waiting to hear more about yours when you flash it!

Ahh, yeah I hadn't actually dug into what it does specifically beyond magically making my bike 100% better. It's a good thing it's already a richer mix then, should work pretty nicely out of the box with the Ramair filter. Still planning on dynoing once I get the TORS on, mind you. And better too rich than too lean.
I was considering a new Touring but there is the problem with the restricted tunes. If I had one out of warranty with TORs, I would try the unrestricted Roadster tune for TORs. You can't load it directly but you can copy all of the fuel, ignition, and other tables into a Touring tune. And open the secondaries. And think twice about the intake. I tried several tunes for Jardines and K&Ns and none were ideal, especially at the low end. The bike is now in the shop getting a PCIII and dyno tune.

I feel really good about mine with the current tune. Runs smoothly, no backfiring, no stuttering, great mileage (well, great mileage for this behemoth) and smooth power delivery all the way up to 6k. I have no reason to doubt it has 30 hp more than stock, which puts it at around 140, so mildly less than a Roadster. Which is plenty for me, no matter how much I flirt with the idea of finding aftermarket pipes and Carpenterizing...
I have used three different tunes that are supposed to work for Jardines and K&Ns. They all work OK but they're all different to some extent. Two have completely stock timing tables except they copied the tables for the higher gears into the lower. Quite different in the fueling. There must be one that's more ideal than the others but this would require significant expense with the dyno to determine. Instead of guessing, I just decided to get a custom tune with a PCIII.
