2015 rocket iii roadster
I’ve got an issue that’s developed recently, the neutral light would sometimes come on/go off again when riding in any gear. When it switched on/off I’d notice a change in performance (assuming as it changes the mixture). After a couple of days it’s now permanently on.
Any ideas what to be checking? Since it’s permanently on no remaining miles on the display is shown so I’ve no idea what the fuel level is. It’s a 2015 rocket roadster.

Also, sometimes the sweep doesn’t happen in time with the fuel pump prime noise, not sure if that’s related but the sweep will happen and then seconds later the pump noise. Not always though.

I'm not a gauge expert especially the newer roadster style hopefully its just the gear indicator. If it is the culprit and your still riding her you probably operating on the neutral map. I think I would plug tune ecu into the bike and see if the gear sensor is sending the right signal to the ecu. Smarter fellers will be along shortly.

Thanks, I've had a look at the advice thread on how to take that out and clean it so I reckon I'll give that a go. I'm very paranoid about snapping bolts! The speed sensor (on the wheel) malfunctioned and one of those small bolt heads snapped off a while back removing it so I imagine this sensor is going to likely be the same!

When you unbolt the GPS and lift it out, turn ignition on, turn the GPS white disc around by the little brass pin.
The gear display on tacho should run through 1-N-2-3-4-5-6

Ok so turning this has no effect on the tacho display, I was riding earlier and it went back to showing gear and then neutral again sometimes when going over bumps, going to trace those wires and see if I can find a dodgy connection. I’m guessing if it all looks good then it’s probably the sensor itself?

I traced the sensor back to the plug, no broken wires. I then took the seat off, ignition on and put it into first gear. Initially the N light was on, some messing with wiring from the battery seemed to make the N light go out but I can't find a definite and now I can't get the N light out anymore using the wiggle test.

And today I had a 200 mile run where the gears consistently displayed with no neutral light...I hate intermittent faults
