Need upgrade info ASAP please! VIN

Hey your rocket gear heads! HELP! I am about to pull the trigger on an 08 R3 Touring. Can anybody help me determine if the transmission came with the upgraded gears? If memory serves me, it is possible to tell from the last 6 digits of the VIN? Anyway, the last 6 digits are 345947. Any help would be appreciated. The sooner, the better. Deal is supposed to be done tomorrow.

Oh yeah, theoretically RPM cycle said they called Triumph and Triumph supposedly said, they could not tell...... I do not believe that could be the case. Surely they would have the run numbers on each bike to track them for potential problems wouldn't you think?

Maybe I need to call Triumph myself? Anybody have their number?

Bikes that need updated. Vin numbers from 0 to 337294 so that one is in the clear vin number wise

This information is what is listed on the update kit Instructions.
Also 08 touring models were the first to experience the broken detent spring!!!

Yeah, I'm thinking 345947 is outside the 0-337294 range. Mine is 343177 and no problems at 30k miles.

Ken I had bout 58000 miles on my 08 when I traded it and had no problem with the transmission did have the detent spring break

The detent spring broke on my 2006 Classic, so the problem was around before the 2008. However, I had the update kit installed before the spring broke, so that could have had something to do with it as well.

your right Ian they could have accidentally damaged the spring changing the detent wheel. Its hard to say without being there. I just remember a rash of detent breaking around 08 and 09 as my buddy lost his on his 08 touring. Back then when the detent spring went people were thinking they lost their second gear. Over the years Triumph added more stuff to the update kit but most were little things like hardware and such.

Thanks! Exactly what I needed. Anybody need a clean 08 red and black touring WITH a lot of bells and whistles including cruise control!?!?!
