Well - She was stopped to turn right. Then decided it would be fun just to back the muther f*cker up w/o even looking back!!!!

@Claviger - @warp9.9 - Do you know what the rake specs are? or the process to measure for the rake tolerances????
I know I need to release axle nut & Triple tree bolts to re-set for side/side alignment, but not sure how to check rake specs
Thanks

If you had been wearing your hi-vis yellow lycra, and hot pink cowboy boots, she might have seen you.

I was!!!!!! She never looked back
I saw her face in her rear view mirror n it was in dingbat mode. Bout a 18 year old girl maybe younger.
After I cooled off I had to apologize to her n her stepmom for the waterfall of cuss words I spewed at them

He was ! That was why she felt she just had to take him out .
Sorry to see this Clint , I hope she didn't try and accuse you of running in the back of her ? Glad your ok mate , that's the most important thing .

You can do it in the garage using a plumb bob. The bike needs to be upright on its wheels not a stand. Use the plumb bob to mark the point on the floor then measure them. Do keep in mind factory specs will vary slightly and different rear suspension will have an effect on the measurements.

Rake you can get easily on level ground using this:
WESTWARD Magnetic Digital Protractor,2.165 In - 2YNK6|2YNK6 - Grainger

These are the pertinent items

The most important thing, get the front end up, tug, pull, twist, push, try every direction make sure there's no clunking etc. luckily the R3 front end is rediculously stout and if she was going slow chances are your bikes sound. Make sure you replace everything damaged or potentially damaged, my check for similar was about $4500 from insurance.

All the pertinent dimensions:
5.8" Trail
32 degree Rake
66.7" Wheelbase

Forgot to add, to check safety of the forks, I did this:

Got it in the air and did all the movement checks. No issues.
Used my weight and some extra to compress and release the suspension a few times standing still to listen for and new fork noise, then check for any seal leaking. No issues.
Used a metal ruler to check straightness of the inner and outer tubes. No issues.
Check brakes, rim, etc for and visible runout or brake drag. No issues.

Then I went out and rode, slowly, feeling carefully for any issues. Slowly working the speeds up and checking etc. Eventually after a number of checks, I was comfortable that it was safe and went racing the next day where I saw north of 150 repeatedly with no adverse effects.

I hope you are as lucky and glad your undamaged yourself.

THANK YOU! YOU ARE DA MAN!
