Finally had time today to lift the tank and fiddle a bit. Have the three K&N's on order and the breather element but didn't wait for them to come in. So I installed the power commander which in this case is supposed to be mapped for the Jardines and I pulled the air box and secondary plates. I didn't think it would be complicated but I was VERY grateful for the excellent posts in this forum, especially the step by step from Miamidave.
My question is, since I don't have a breather element for the sensor I just temporary hooked it off to the side, "out of the way". 12 minute tune and a 15 mile test ride was completed but the 'check engine' stays lite. Will the breather make a difference? Why? Do I risk it going into limp mode?
By the way at about 1/2 throttle it will lift the tire with just throttle now! Most excellent.

Are you talking about the pressure sensor or the intake ait temp sensor? The pressure sensor is fed from three equal length tubes from the trottle bodies, right? If it's the temp sensor, it should be in a location that is near the intake air. Keep it away from the hot engine parts.

The light went out. Thanks all. I am not sure I know what sensor I am talking about. It was located in the (now discarded) air box and did not have any rubber hoses associated with it. Where it is now is too hot, I a sure you are right, and when I get the K&N parts, I will mount it outboard like MiamiDave did.

Most times the sensor will go out after 3 complete cold start, warm up cycles are completed with no new problems. My dealer told me that the only way to reset the fault codes is to have a diagnostic tool but this is not so.

I wigged out too...but it is more of a mile thing I think than a time thing. But 3x restarting and about 60 miles seems right...

Oh, how does it run
