Sounds like it could have been contact surface oxidation (corrosion) and just the action of unplugging and plugging back in cleaned it off enough to make it work again. Anyhow, that is what I would go with. As a former aircraft electrician/Flight Engineer that is what I would call it and sign off the gripe!

That thought crossed my mind. The female slots where the original male flasher prongs plugged in, and the Signal Minder, looked dirty and greasy. Maybe the problem is there or in the fuses I pulled. If it happens again I will do some cleaning and maybe use the dielectric grease I have. Thanks.
