Need a mechanic in FLorida?? Help!!

With the Jardines alone you will need a new tune. Triumph does not have a tune that will run right with Jardines. They may claim they do, but they don't, they are all too lean. If you add the triple K&Ns, you will DEFINITELY need more fuel.

If you are comfortable using TuneECU on a laptop, that is the cheapest and way to go. It is a good program, with a lot of info.. One thing to consider... Most dyno shops are very familiar with DynoJet PCIII or PCVs. Hardly any are familiar with TuneECU or TuneBoy, so you have to rely on other people's tunes, which may be close for your bike, or they may not be. Every bike is just a little bit different when tuning them.

I currently run Jardines, a drop-in K&N and a DynoJet PC-III, which I've had since before TuneECU or TuneBoy came out. DynoJet has a "canned" tune for the Jardine system. (this tune will also be too lean with triple K&Ns) I ran that tune for a while, then took my bike to a local dyno shop to have them map it properly. It runs great. With the canned tune I was running about 132 HP.. after I got it tuned right I've been running about 140HP/142 lbs/ft ever since. I think about going to triple K&Ns from time to time, but my bike is running too good right now, and triple K&Ns also open up a bunch of intake noise.. BUT, with the right tune, they add a good 10-15HP on top of what I am running now.. :D

Hanso, i called and spoke to a rep from online store who sells the trips. He told me i need a pcv with the trips. I cant afford that right now. He also told me replacing the standard filter with a k and n is not worth it. There will be no diff in performance. So what should i do?? Can i buy the trips, use the free tune thru ecu and be sufficiant enough until i can afford pcv? Or should i just go with the underneath k and n ( if its worth it) and the jardiens for now? Thx again for any help! Whatever i decide i will def hit you up for your tune. I've been on this site every night reading endlessly. So i appriciate any direct help
The guy was partly right BUT only cos he wanted to sell you a PCV there and Then, Yes you can put a TuneECU tune and run with that till you can get a PCV +AT and then still leave it in there the ECU cos it will just make the PCV work better. I would also agree with him on the Filter choice, Donot waste your money on the under seat filter it is in my opinion a waste of time, but I suggest you contact Flipmiester who advertises here and get the 5 (3x 2780 1 temp filter and 1 crankcase vent filter)filters needed from him also for the PCV I found MorePower Racing to be good to deal with.

the site does not allow the PVM files in the attachment uploader maybe we need to ask the the administerators to allow us to attach PVM Files. ;)

So this is why I need your e-mail adress :)

I have a R3T 2013. I am looking into putting on Jardines, the triple k and n's, and a power commander. I live in the Tampa Bay area. I'm willing to travel anywhere there's a good mechanic in the area that could do the work and do it right. Does anyone know a good shop in Fl that could handle retuning and install??? Thanks for any help!
I haven't read the whole thread, but if nobody has recommended him already, call Gulf Coast Motorcycles in Ft. Myers - it's a BMW - Triumph - Ducati shop. Ask for Peter Felice - a first class Triumph wrench. Tell him Kerry with the R3T referred him to you.

Motorcycle Enthusiasts in Spring Hill. Their labor rates are $60 an hour and they specialize in Triumph.

I purchased my 2011 last month at St. Pete Powersports, but they carry quite a few other lines and are a bigger shop and big shops make me leery. ME's is a smaller shop and have had many Rockets. They did the first service on my 2011 and my big girl seemed really happy with the service.

BTW, what K&N's fit the Rocket? I checked their website and they had nothing for our bikes but I've seen them on.

I don't think anyone answered your question regarding the K&N's. Go to Flipmeisters Specialty Products and Flip will set you up. He has all the filters that you need lined up and at a great price.

Nice to hear that there are other R3T riders in the area. I live a couple of miles from Tampa airport and bought my Rocket with 4500 miles on it from St. Pete. Powersports in Feb. '11. If you locals want to get together let me know. I've been wanting to hear an R3T with Jardines or Tors since I got the bike.
