Regarding helmet locks, I'm still using narrow hasp combination locks. You want one where the hasp is narrow enough to fit over the blade of your clutch or brake lever, but too narrow fit past the ball end. In most cases I can then put the helmet over the mirror if I so choose to lessen the chance of it becoming a trash or liquid receptacle. I THINK the Master Lock 630D is the main one I use. Cheap, reliable and no key to carry or lose.
