My Rocket ruined my Daytona

I've learnt not to use the word 'need' when buying things for the bike - who really 'needs' a 2300cc bike in the first place - but generally try to throw in 'safer' if I can. Was a bit hard with the CES exhaust but sometimes a 'really want' actually works.....;)

WHERE IS THE TORQUE?! There was once a time, not too long ago, when I was of the opinion that the Daytona 955 had a healthy amount of torque (among sport bikes, it really does at 74lb-ft). Now, after getting accustomed to the R3R, the 'Tona feels like a lawn mower lol.

Don't worry, it cannot be a lawn mower: it's got 3 cylinders. My garden tractor has a v-twin. :whitstling: :sneaky:

Surprised to read your opinion, I like all my bikes, all for different reasons. The Rocket is probably my favorite, but it doesn't make me like any of the others any less.

After a day of riding it, I had adjusted back to what for me, is like an old glove. I do still enjoy riding it a lot, mostly I just go looking for the least straight road to get from a to b and turn lots. Ridden in anger, she will still hustle, but it's not the easy wash of torque I've grown accustomed to is all.

Plans for the 'Tona over the next year include BST rims, paint, Ohlins mono shock, custom tuneboy tune.

Plans for the rocket include blacking most of the chrome out, adding a couple of bits n bobs, then gas, tires, oil and lots of miles.

On a side note, I wonder if you can retrofit a Thunderbird LT seat to a R3T... probably not. Oh well.

Now i went from a Busa to a R3T and i would not like to sell the busa as the power is not the same but they are both fun to ride,as the rocket is a tourer with an updade tune it's even more fun .
The busa is a great ride again lotsof fun in a diffrent way .I all so have a 600 bandit now that you have to ring its neck ...... only because its so small :(

I had a 2001 Hayabusa for years, it made 152 hp at the rear wheel in stock condition.
As far as I know, it is possible to get 152 hp from a R3T, even without touching the engine. You probably just need a really good exhaust, air filter and a custom tune...

i still enjoy the heck out of my gs500 and dl1000... all three bikes have such different personalities you can't even compare them: gs is so light and flickable; dl is a curb hopping hooligan; r3r is shamu looking for a seal...
