My 2014 Roadster Build...

Must say I agree with TC on all counts, That's coming from a person (Me) that is not a real fan of black but it does all go well together, now you just need to look at the exhaust next thou ;) the Headers made by Trev up in QLD are smick just check out the "Rocket Science" thread
Thanks yea I have been looking at that thread... My powder coater bailed on me but all chrome is getting blacked out too... Exhaust is in the works 3into1into3 like the valkyrie cobras but all 2"

Tight, thats the word that comes to mind looking at your bike. The hardbags and fairind look like anything but accessories. excellent work. Now will you hold onto this one awhile or do you enjoy the creation as much as the ride?

Your on the road by now, but if I had read this post in time I would have asked to tag along awhile since carpenters union has asked for a walkoff I have a 4 day weekend and an itch for some warmer weather. oh well, my tires should probably be replaced before I stray too far from home.

Bike has 3000miles on it now and everything is holding up good... did a stint yesterday heading home in front of a major storm and mpg's dropped to 33 since I averaged 97mph on that tank full.... the fairing and bags held up at a few 130+mph runs to stay in front of the rain...

How did you like the way the bike handled at speed with the fairing? I've been told the fork mounted fairings are a bit more work on the hwy.

Short 6" shield no issues at any speed

Mid 10-12" shield no issues below 95, then it feels light and start of a wobble up to 105 then it go away above 105

Tall 14-16" shield no issues up to about 100 then the same as above but if you cruise at 100 it goes away

Never severe just a hint of a wobble, I would be the first to toss it if it was unsafe...

well since we have a long weekend here, I am contemplating going riding all weekend or fabbing up my trailer hitch for the bike or my 3 into 3 straight pipes...

mate, like what you've done, kinda miss mine being all blacked out...hm..maybe ... nah, id get killed, and not by anything other than my wife.

just about your proposed exhaust, I know there are varying opinions all over but my understanding is if you go to big you'll lose torque. I am led to believe that 2 inch is too big and bike will run too lean (i think it was lean but somebody who knows might give you more solid advice). Maybe research your options before biting the bullet on that one mate.

Thanks

It will be a stepped approach, I have been talking to a few guys on here as well as some Rocket tuners and I will have removable baffles as well in the event that the torque gets to be an issue.

I just love the look of the straight pipes similar to what you get for the Valkyries...

That's my thoughts exactly... they are loud as hell on a Valkyrie especially since it is 6 pipes...
I cant wait to hear it as 3 pipes on the R3R...
