Mounting an Exedra Max rear tire on the new 3R = Better Handling

Mel, the front rear fender (next to exhaust) just needs to go up 1". It attaches at three places. On the left side of the bike you just need 1" spacers and longer SS bolts for the two attachment points. On the right side look inside the fender where it attaches at the bottom. You just need a 2" piece of metal with two holes drilled so that you can attach the new bracket to the attachment point and the fender 1" higher up on the new bracket. That's it, really.

I managed to get away with a slightly smaller spacer on the top of the swingarm and an angled spacer on the inside.

I started with 1/2" spacers, as that's the additional height of the tire (from the axle), but I was getting some whistling from between the tire and fender. It's much less with 1" but still a little there in turns at higher speeds. Have you noticed that?

Thanks again I might just be a bit intimidated. As far as easy or to easy as Tal states, you should know I think cutting teeth broken off to the gums very easy. It takes me 60 seconds and I charge $200.

I'm going to try to avoid needing that, but thank you . I have a feeling, based on what you just described, that you have the skill to raise that fender. Just a hunch though

Haven’t noticed any whistling so far.

Thought the same, but it also serves as wire/cable/connector protection and mounting.

I think it keeps some debris off the underside of the main rear fender which is visible to some degree.

My cobber and i both removed our rear fender and replaced them with a tail tidy but any crud off the road, particularly when it was raining, went under the passenger seat and down into the battery area...we didnt like that so went back to stock. I now have a piece of foam which is used as draft stop on heavy vehicles glued under the fender near the top of it. It stops alot of shyte flying off the wheel.

So this is the foam which is about 2inches by 2inches...its spongy. I cut it in half so it was thin enough to go in between the fender and the tyre...put some 'Araldite" glue on it and poked it in there. I wedged a couple of bits of firewood in there to hold it in place until the glue had set. It seems to work pretty good.........................................Found this (Big photo)...its Door protector you can put on your garage walls to stop the vehicle doors hitting the wall....perfect!
