Mixed Emotions

The guys I ride with are a little more... um "reserved" then I am. So the worse I have done even with the VTX was 2nd with these guys.
It has been as I am sure you know raining here for 40 days and 40 nights, so we have not gotten out much.
I did order the cable for the TuneECU, and the GIpro today.

I am not sure I going with the TuneECU but figured I would at least look into it. I had a powercommader on the VTX so I am use to that, and will most likely go the same route Hellfire has gone. The combination of PC and GiPro...

I have a few things left with the house before I can start looking at the exhaust, but the rest of the goodies I should be able to gather up and be ready. I still have to decide on exhaust and I have no idea what gives the best bang for your buck. On the VTX it was pretty limited on what exhaust actually gave a performance boost and I am not sure what the performance exhaust options are for the R3. So I have some more research to do.

Part of the benefit of the GIPro is you're one button away from factory settings or enhanced performance. Sort of a poor mans fly by wire. Conditions change (wife on back) and you adapt performance to suit.

I've kept my intake and exhaust stock, so for me it's a cost effective solution. Others want a lot more umph.

That's right. Some want to plug and play and others want to plug and play with it. I prefer the plug and play. Install, flick a switch, turn a screw and off you go. Love it!

If you've ever been caught in the rain with the wife on the back while still running a Metzler, being able to push the button on the GiPro to go back to reduced low gear power is a big confidence boost. Removing or opening secondaries 100% and programming the ECU for full power in low gear is fine, but try to de-tune the bike in a down pour on the side of the highway while the wife is complaining.
GiPro lets you put it back to stock or just limit 1st gear power with a pen. It's almost like push button traction control.

While I have yet to ride the bike since making the changes early this morning, my ECU cable showed up Saturday so last night I used TuneECU to open up the secondaries to 100% at all ranges. They were quite restricted in the factory default settings.

I also copied table I4 and over wrote tables I1-I3.
(I did save a copy of the default map before making changes)

Will report on any new emotions these changes bring out.......

OK.... Now I'm impressed!

The bike I pushed outta the garage this morning was a hell of a lot different then It was when I pulled it in last night.

Throttle response is much better, there is still a lag, but it is much better. And so is the power! What a difference there is in the power. OH I am going to be in so much trouble with this bike!!
