Let me start off by saying that I know this is my fault for buying the touring model and not the roadster... but that is the deal I made with the wife. Otherwise it would of been an Ultra or a Wing... So

I have about 1200 miles on my 2011 R3T and for the most part I am extremely pleased. The main reason I bought it was to be different, and being I have only seen one other R3 in the past 4 years I feel I accomplished that.

I had both a 1300 and 1800 VTX and for the life of me I can not get over the feeling that my 1800 would walk away from this bike. And I would like to fix that feeling in so much as is possible.

When I twist the throttle hard... say rolling along in second gear... I feel I am about to break something in the drive shaft, and I cringe a little, not sure how to explain it but it not a comforting feeling, not something I am use to with a shaft driven bike.

Then the throttle response is kind of like an old ford I once had with a transmission that kind of slid into 3rd gear, I get the same feeling from this bike, there is no "snap" in the response to the throttle. I am hoping that the removal of the secondaries will cure some of that.

So where do I start to put just a little bit of snap into the throttle response of this tourer? Yeah I know.. should of put bags on the roadster....

Bonecarver try the gipro route , just fitted one to my 2010 tourer and im over the moon. Lots more go from the first 3 gears and i fitted it myself in about 30 mins . transformed my tourer and i love it.

I have the same feelings about my 08 R3T, great bike, no major complaints but it is lacking a bit, I'd like to find away to juice her up without breaking the bank

Or, if you are on a bit of tighter budget you can extract Roadster power from the Touring model with just exhaust, intake and tuning changes.

Hooky what model did you buy?
I see one for the roadster and one for S/T......

And if you don't mind where'd ya get it?

I'm all in to do this. Just saw your post from earlier today...

Glad to hear I am not the only one who felt this way, thought I would be the only one here and would end up as the redheaded step kid here over this..

Still, you'll get a lot more real power by getting a computer tune(TuneBoy, Tune ECU or Power Commander, pulling the throttle secondaries and fitting three K&Ns under your bearclaw...

I'm sure I will get there. But it will take a few weeks. In the middle of remodeling the kitchen, dining room, and deck... so I am going to start with the simple and easily affordable and work up from there. But hell yeah.... I ride with 2 m109s, and a vrod.. I don't want to be 3rd or 4th one to the next light.......really don't want to be second either........

I may do the secondaries in the morning... but most likely would not do the intake until I can also do the exhaust....

Speaking of exhaust, I am dying to let one of my buddies ride the bike so I can hear what it sounds like... My kid says it sounds like a Volkswagen Rabbit....

What does the gipro do, would it improve the Roadster, I am looking for smooth torque not horse power gains, I will never use the horsepower my Roadster has.
