Milestone


No question I am nuts. But we all are for riding motorcycles, its a f##king war zone out there on the streets. My last ride to bring it up to 100k miles I was almost whacked twice by merry mergers who don't even give a thought to looking before they change lanes. But that is part of the game, every cage out there wants to kill you and its your job to make sure that does not happen.

As far as the valves go, I just don't worry about them. It isn't like sucking a valve is a common problem. Its good practice to check and adjust on a regular basis, but it is also good practice not to drink too much or eat the wrong foods......frack that....

I miss the paint can rattle. I am going to take a look at the cam chain to see WTF it stopped rattling.....
 
Congrats on the 100K. I have an 05 with not even 10k on it. I haven't owned it since it was new but I haven't gotten to ride it much the last yr or so do to the high idle issue which I now think I have solved with help from this forum. I have read about issues with the 05 and earlier Rockets here and other places. But for every one you read about that has issues you see threads like this of people who don't have any issues.. There is still some things that I think are normal with mine I don't care for but I choose now to ignore them and as you say eff it ride the Rocket. Riding the highways and byways with a motorcycle is a challenge anymore especially with our technology that we all have available to us. Young people texting and talking while driving is a constant danger. I never linger when passing a vehicle get the hell by them and be in there front window not there side. Another nice thing about the Rocket the torque right there makes it nice. Al
 
hey ugarte, if your filter lasted that long, what about your coolant? im embarrased to say mine has the original coolant in it. have you ever changed yours? scott

I changed the coolant out at 50k miles along with the plugs.
 
Congrats on the milestone , glad your RIII has treated you so well .. it's good to hear.
