Bought the fuel gauge from Triumph. Otherwise I believe Ken our resident electrical god posted something about a nice and accurate aftermarket one. Because of the accuracy if I had it to do I would go with Kens advice.

Just wondering how many miles per tank ya'll are getting? Do ya run em till to fuel light comes on. Not used to not having fuel gage.

I could do 200 plus miles if I had to before I put a different tune on my bike. For me, if I'm up to 180 miles I would be looking for gas. I usually am looking for a stop at 165 miles as I am also OCD when it comes to having fuel.

Sorry, but I don't run on fumes and I make no excuses for anyone running out of gas. It hard on your fuel pump and it's hard on your bike. My brother ran out of gas one time on a hot day and at highway speed. He screwed up a piston because he lost the cooling and lubricating effect of fuel on the cylinder walls. Testing the limit of your riding range is a fools contest and you may wind up being a big time loser.

I may get 180 on a long cruise, but I am looking to top up around half a tank....I need to get off and stretch, so I might as well give the bike a drink too eh?

My light usually clicks on at about 230kms. But I have had it do so at 180kms. I was cruising at 4000rpms.
This knocked a hole in my traditional LIGHT/ODO monitoring solution.

If you REALLY like to live on the edge - I highly recommend the FUELBOT The most accurate Fuel Gauge you will ever find ...
I fitted one and the consumption really does depend on how you ride.

I do notice a significant difference in fuel economy at 70 mph as compared to 55. I run whatever is posted, but I breath easier on the side roads if the tank is less than full.
