And so it ends. Three black bikes riding out of Hillsville this morning to breakfast and back to our respective home states ( S.C., TN. And N.C.) I will return here soon. This is a great place to ride and the Knob Hill Motor Lodge is great. Exceptionally clean, quiet, and conveniently located. Excellent value too. No breakfast but Earls diner is across the street and their food is pretty good.

Starting if the back of the dragon

definitely found the answer for hungry mother last night in mt. airy, the gondola italian restaurant... Gondola Italian Restaurant

the portions they serve would even fill up that couple on the harley we were riding behind yesterday, and it's dang tasty, too... and where else can you experience an italian restaurant; run by a guy from egypt; playing southern rock on the stereo??? fresh baked bread and seasoned olive oil to keep you busy while the mix up the food... we had mousakka and their house special alfredo, but the pizza (seemed to be what the locals where coming in for) looked good, too...

i handed off the leftover pies to boog this morning signaling the official closing of this foofaraw... it's back through the wormhole to the universe of humdrum for a while...

Joseywales going to eat at a Mexican restaurant

I told him it wasn't all you can eat but he didn't listen. I'm glad he did that because that cart was aiming for my bike.

Made it home safe and really enjoyed everyones company. To BillB and Laurel thanks for letting me hang out with you in Maggie Valley, thanks to the others as well. Rainman, and Josey see y'all soon I hope.... but I've got to get these tires put on.

Back in the barn, no issues on the return trip. Was stressing about the rear tire a bit but can still wait a couple of more weeks to swap the spare rim with the new tire on. Just short of 1500 miles in 7 days, a few character building moments, but nothing we didn't get sorted with the tools and friends on hand . Just as it should be.

To all my old friends and the new ones, as always, **** good talking to ya!

Laurel mentioned that we (and a lot of the usual suspects) are only a few hours away from the Knob Hill Motel on the slab. Maybe get one more 3 day weekend in before the weather sets in.

Maybe the end of October or the first couple of weeks in November. Anybody interested?
