Moved to Final Drive. No issues, but those who think killing others solves the world's problems doesn't deserve the public spotlight.

I am afraid to say that this is why most of these people do these atrocious cowardly attacks and post it on social media because it's out there hoping to spread there evil message to others.Social media is such a good tool for good but can also have a adverse affect. The only thing we can hope for is that no one else is influenced by this cowards actions.Stay strong New Zealand

So true, but governments always use these terrible events as an excuse to pass more laws to take gun ownership out of the hand of law abiding citizens!

But on the other hand maybe if there had been some law abiding citizens carrying legally this a$$hole could have been dropped and lives saved just another way for the government to look at it

The Prime Minister has already said the gun laws will now change...it has been bantered around for a while and 'now is the time'..her words.
I am the owner of several weapons and have a licence to own them..no problems there...they are all locked away as they are meant to be. Our law says to own or possess weapons or to purchase ammunition you must have a licence. Fair enough too, but what isn't recorded is the serial number, make, model etc of the firearms you have. This, imho , should change, Every rifle, shotgun etc should have its serial number recorded against the owner. When or if it is sold on or forfeited, the number is moved to the new owner or shown as no longer in service.
This way, a record of weapons is more accurate. If a weapon is stolen, then it can be recorded as such so if a crime is carried out with that weapon, the 'owner' who recorded it as stolen then has an alibi. It would be difficult otherwise.
Christchurch has the worlds largest gun store (Gun City)...according to the owner who advertises that fact. And with current licence laws legal weapons of all types are readily available right here and with current laws its easy to get what you want. A great thing if you're a hunter.

To our brothers and sisters in New Zealand please know my heart is with you. My prayers are with you. My anger is with you. I wish I could be there to help. We all have this great common love of bikes that brings us all together on this forum. But we also have the love of a safe and free country. I remember clearly the events of 9/11/01 and 4/15/13. It changed our nation. 9/11 is a day that really changed America. And it changed me. I became very nervous for several months as I was working in Boston often. Every building was a target to me. It drove m crazy to think we were that vulnerable to terrorism.
Working in and around Boston, 4/15/13 made me become even more angry and bitter towards too many people that I just didn't like the looks of. This is what terrorism does to a nation. This day will change New Zealand. It isn't fair. But knowing there are others that think the same and are willing to talk about helps. Bitterness and anger will be normal, just dont act on it. If you do you become just as lowly as the terrorist. My heart is with the friends and families of all of you guys and the folks directly affected by what has happened in New Zealand. I am saying prayers and May God Bless all of you and be with you.

Thanx Rick....life will move on...cant be standing still in sorrow...We in Christchurch have had that huge earthquake to cope with and folk showed great resolve...this is somewhat a different scenario as its not nature driven...but folk will cope. The sadness will remain...the anger will remain.

You will move on as we did. Just know some of us are thinking about the grief and pain as we have had the same. It is a reminder to always tell your friends and loved ones you love them. You never know when your life can change. God Bless.

After 9/11 and 4/15 I also was bitter, but I was bitter that these acts would slowly and surely take our rights away as a free society! To me, you have to accept a certain risk to live in a free society. The government will take away your rights one at a time until you have nothing left. To me the terrorist and nut jobs have won! We have lost a lot of our rights and we are no safer from attack than before.
