Updates from the dealer:
This morning:
"Just an update, triumph will be replacing the header and gaskets all under warranty.
They have not given an explanation as to how that could have happened"
This evening:
"The above prior has been rejected. We have reviewed this concern with our quality and manufacturing teams and have confirmed that this discoloured patch is normal consequence of the production process and is acceptable.
If the customer is dissatisfied with the appearance then it can be improved with a few minutes polishing with a Scotch-Brite pad or similar, as per the below example."

questionable approach to say the least....

anyone has a similar experience?

Corporate Translation:

Wow, that isn't right, we put out this high dollar bike to take over the market and something like this happens, we better make right.

Later:

****, every one of the models so far has made it out of the factory with that shoddy workmanship. If we replace all of those headers and gaskets under warranty there goes my trip to Palma this year with all of my family. Let's just say it is part of the manufacturing process, is not a mechanical issue and tell them to buff it out with a bit of scotch brite. Yea, that's it.

I just wonder which Scotch Brite pad to use, there are several colors out there. ;)

Taking a pad to a new bike, oh dear! better just live with it, see it as a feature :) you won't see it when your riding it, and if they all have it, it won't be considered a problem with an individual bike.

Maybe the pad will be in the next update kit :)

Hey if you want to pay 22k for something with spot weld burns on it go ahead. I bet the ezhaust manufacturer is running around trying to figure out why they missed it. I'm sure Triumph is all over them!! And the inspector that performed the first article inspection.

I couldn’t tell what that piece is welded to. I don’t remember it being there on the older headers.

That's great because there is no flange between the header pipes on the on the 2300 cc motors. and at least the outer stainless showing the spot weld burn is a decorative piece. Now what its hiding behind it won't be clear until a picture gets posted of the back side of the pipes.

Just looked and I have the same thing. Not concerned.
