Had the same problem with the main 30 amp fuse melting and an 'intermittant' problem with the electrics quitting on me at the worst times. Took bike to Auto Electrician who diagnosed a problem with that particular fuse holder. He bipassed that fuse holder and no more problems.
just read this thread and now wont be able to eat my breakfast because my stomack is turning over so bad. The sad thing about it is i have seen just about all of those done at one time or the other. Even started my shift on time to find a block of wood inserted into a motor starter (electrical motor) to keep it running.
Of course replace but ALWAYS put a dab of dielectric grease one the spades of the fuses. Use it on ALL electrical connections. Stops arcing and burned out terminals. THE best kept electrical secret. Do this and your fuses will live forever.
