Upgrades on bike just around the corner. Was looking at the New Avon's Cobra silvers. Wife said holy shi5 already threw the credit card down and said "whatever" Told her i was just looking not buying tires. She said well that's a relief. Ask what the Hell4 do you mean by that? Her comment on the upgrades is still the same. "Why did you buy a limited addition and still have to find ways to spend money on it? is it not one of 500 enough?) Shook her head and laughed. Figure prior to the run will need new tires. Gonna give the new Cobras a shot. Good reviews and like the idea of having matching tires. No regrets at all with the bridgestone and the Scorcher combination. Second time around with this set up and happy with it but this new tire from Avon is worth a shot. Riding to Maggie Valley will be a good test ride. Only one way to know for sure.
Get your tires before you leave and run them in a bit. No Triumph stuff anywhere close to Maggie. The shop in Asheville closed a few years ago and no 240 rear tires here I would bet. During RAA6 several needed tires when they got here. Cord showing. That's not smart. Change your brake shoes too. Run them in a bit. Dinner is served when it's served. No stragglers due to equipment issues.

I learned my lesson the hard way last year. My new front Cobra came late the day before I was to leave for NC/TN and rather
than postpone liftoff I decided to try and make the run on the old one which looked so-so.
After riding the Blue Ridge, Dragons Tail, and the Cherohala there was not much rubber left and it was very doubtful it would make it back to NY.
in case of emergency. No guarantees they have more - maybe a call could be made to check. They could order one as well in two days.
The price was normal too.
The only issue was that they were less than impressed with the DS rear tire and none of the mechanics would take it out
on the normal check out ride after the install ------ I prefer that anyways.
