I'm in. I was going to take the Parkway back anyway. I rode it many times while stationed in Norfolk, VA and probably have been through there. That waterfall pic looks very familiar but then again, everything looks very familiar to me these days.

And you can buy very cool switchblade knives on the reservation.

Little Switzerland is north on BRP from Maggie Valley (but we're not riding the BRP the whole way there).

The Indian rally in Cherokee is the other direction, south of Maggie Valley via BRP.
IF you are "in" for the Indian rally, that is where we're going on Tuesday 6/25 via the Rattler. (Home base for that is Super 8, Cherokee)
 

Yup. checked location on Maps in relation to Ashville. I'll make a reservation. My route and follow on plans will depend on weather and how I feel physically. I am assuming my new knee will have healed sufficiently for me to make this trip and follow on touring.

Edit: I should have been more soecific in my post. I'm in for Little Switzerland only and will be meandering north from there
 
Fatality on the Foothills Parkway this past weekend which is a mellow ride compared to some. Operator of bike is in the hospital. Pillion gal died. DO YOU HEAR US ? We live here and ride here. Be careful y'all. I'll be cooking so no worries in a truck with an anchor. Look off the road for one second may be your last.
 
We did hear of that wreck. My wife and some friends were wanting to ride that section but the road was closed due to the fatality. I can’t imagine crashing on that road as it is very easy to ride and not usually crowded.

Yes indeed. Three days off and no rain in forecast. Gonna make it happen and get the bike back together this weekend somewhat. Still have a few things other than the cam job to complete but given a hole three days off not worried about it. Time frame and work to be accomplished is well with in the time frame to make Maggie Valley. No days off after this weekend until May and was worried about getting time off this weekend but good to go. Very happy with it.
