I am looking forward to the Maggie Valley experience. So much so, that friends who ride Rockets are going to be in the area. What is the "Guests" options. I'm sure they will pay the $20.00 or what ever is required. Just sounds like a great time for rides and meeting Rocket Riders.
Monday after Maggie Valley, we're heading to Little Switzerland for a one night stay and some riding on the Devil's Whip and the Diamondback...if you want to start your "tour for the week after" that direction.
I don't know what any of that is but I'm up for anything.
And on the being ready for a good ride Steve, you sure pegged that. It's been a long recovery process and I'm chomping at the bit to get back out on the road.
Little Switzerland is a scenic spot along the Blue Ridge Pkwy that has a couple choices for food and lodging. There is a loop comprised of rts 226 & 226A known as "Diamondback" you can do endless laps from Little Switzerland.
The "Devils Whip" is a road that takes you from the lower elevations near Marion, up to the Blue Ridge (and over). It crosses the Blue Ridge a short ways south of Little Switzerland.

If you're talking "laps" then you must be talking Diamondback loop. Been there lately?...It's been several years since I last rode it. 226A (which I usually run downhill) was getting a bit rough. Any idea how the pavement is at present?
I like running 226 for the uphill because you get passing lanes. The 226 part was in good condition last time. Assuming it's still ok?
