Wearing full face helmet. Wind hits top of helmet. 2 inch taller it should go OVER head. I'm pretty tall.
Cut it. The helmet will fly and do it's thing. The lowers take a lot of turbulence off and quiet up the ride. I tried the barn door. Stock small, tall, aftermarket. Best was a short WIndvest with lowers. Not pretty but worked very well.

The screen adjusts down, shorter. Lower there is no buffeting. But shoulders get alot of pressure. All the way up and OUT, much less on shoulders. Very comfortable except top of helmet buffeting. This proves that windshield higher reduces pressure on shoulders. Theory is 2 inches taller even less on shoulders, not buffeting. New shield any hour. Will test tomorrow.

Very different bikes though.
The old Rocket fork angle and airflow is very different to latest R3 discussed here.

I am not sure what this one is on a Perth WA bike.

looks like my madstad.
And yes I agree to have the best protection these new bikes would need lowers. The larger madstad is pretty good though, not perfect. Done trying to make this bike into a long distance bike. Different beast.

It is what it is right? True about the different angle for the windshields on the newer and older Rockets. I think sometimes we forget what the Rocket was made for. It's a sport/ cruiser that you can go longer distances on if you don't mind the wind blasting you over 50 mph. I'm okay with my little Powerbronze shield and if it goes I will get another one similar to it that is the same smallish size. You go too big it really does take away the looks of the Rocket (my opinion only). To each his own though. If you dig your setup then it's all good and don't let anyone tell you different (unless they pay for your gas and insurance)😁
