Pete told me he absolutley didn't want to linger on , with all the distress and pain that would cause his loved ones. He was in no pain at all he told me when we last spoke on Monday. He truly treasured the friendships he'd made here and the kindred spirit that we shared. Going to miss his random phone calls when he was parked up in his truck , we'd talk about all sorts of stuff .. admit I've tried to bait him and get a rise out of him on occasions .. he'd never bite  always just chilled out , refusing to say a bad word about anyone and just suggesting "a ride" will sort it out. I'll miss his texts on his solo Sunday morning jaunts down to Byron .. just for the ride. Lucky suits him as his gratitude for all he had in his life was contagious. Will miss the lad that's for sure.

I am stunned. I had NO idea Pete's health had gotten so bad so fast!
I have stated my thoughts regarding the Mate I never met face to face in much earlier posts.
My deepest sympathy goes out to his family, who are suffering the loss of a wonderful patriarch!

Telling Les today about a vinyl tank cover thingo that I 'tried' to give to Pete. Noticed the flap on his was ripped when we were at Nabiac ( seems a 3/4 filled hip flask of Bundy could be stashed in the pocket without it's cap , should one desire to take a small nip without stopping) ... anyway Pete refused to accept the gift and demanded I accept $50 for it .. I refused. He tried to slip the 50 into my pocket, under my smoke packet etc .. I just kept throwing it back at him :D he finally gave it to Catherine telling her not to tell me .. she did of course. I slipped the 50 into the liner of his helmet and said no more about it. Sent him a text when we got home telling him to have a squiz in his lid :D .. he was absolutely spewing
