Low fuel light fix with pictures

Bummed that pictures no longer available. However, I've printed out the entire narrative which is going to be very helpful when I tackle this job in conjunction with receipt of the De'cosse(sp?) key-less ignition system this week or next.. Just might go hog wild and change plugs too while in there, but can't figure out if iridium plugs are okay or not......some say "no", some say, "yes". They cost 5 or 6 times more than regular NGK's, yikes.

I've ordered a new fuel sender unit but think I will do some bending per this post and see what happens with my original sender. I don't mind having a new spare on the garage shelf if repair of the old one is successful.

The "new" style sender unit also requires a "new" mounting bracket. "New" sender will not fit older original bracket.

Well, I ordered the sender from BikeBandit's Triumph OEM list for 2006 Rocket Classic III. Does that mean I will probably not get the sender that fits my bike? Can you describe in some detail what part the "mounting bracket" is so I have some chance of ordering the right one if the sender I get does not fit?

Thanks.

PS Wife and I lived up the road from you in Tampa for 5 years back in 2001-2005.

Hi
Here is some pics of my fuel sender after making adjustment, light comes on at 5,2 liters left. i did make two adjustment bends at the rod one big one and one smal close to the end. So now it says full when full tank and light comes on where the red line starts, and there is 5,2 liters left to it is emty. Hope this make sense to all of you :)

"upgraded sending unit bracket" T1241189

By the way I received the sender unit I ordered from Bike Bandit. It is the new style and came with a new bracket. The handlebar mounted Triumph fuel gauge works now but have not had the pleasure of seeing the low level light come on. Not sure if the red marks at lower end of gauge means I'll be sucking fumes soon or if I'll be on reserve soon ...... and then the lightcomes on......? After two tank refills at approx. 1/4 tank full on guage I haven't seen the light come on yet.

Thanks again.
