Looking to buy a R3T, few questions.

Thanks for the help

Thanks to all that replied to rahoffman. I to am in the same boat. Been to the dealer twice and test drove a 2010 R3T and a 2009 Classic. The R3T didn't have near the power of the Classic. Thats why I tested the Classic to see if the Big Boy could be improved. After all this forum and other folks have said I hope to make my purchase in two months. Untill then I will be glued to youtube, I have a file of about 12 pages on this thing. I think I've caught the R3Tdisease. Nothing else has had this good of a ride.
Thanks again
Kid

Add the Triumph pipes to the R3T and get an additional 17 (or so) hp boost.
If you want other pipes and a dynotune you can get more still. And there are other options as well.

I've had my 08 R3T for two years now. 40k miles. Minor issues resolved under warranty. Overall it's a great bike. Like RocketDaryl mentioned, it's just too **** big. I've not been able to make the bike fit me like it should. I've tried bars, seats, and other adjustments. It's got to be something with me. I just don't fit it well enough to ride more than an hour without stopping to rest. Still, I've managed to put 40k miles on her. I am actually trying to get rid of mine and get something with a more 'standard' riding position.

You really should be over 6ft and 200lbs to be comfortable on an 800lb bike. It takes ass to throw it around, and long legs to touch the ground.

I lowered the seat 1 1/2 inches and built a "butt shelf" at the same time.It changed the handling somewhat and added a gipro with the Tors exhaust from Triumph.Weighs in at 901 with gear in bags, etc and full tank.I am only 5'8 and weigh 205 lbs...love the ride and handling..this is my last bike as I am 67 years old and average about 10000 miles per year..I just have to plan an exit when parking as iot is near impossible to back up unless on flat ground!

I'm 6' and 180 lbs. My legs aren't that long though, only a 30" inseam. I agree with you, the Rocket is a big bike for big folk.
