Lap top or tablet advice.

I bought an Acer Notebook a couple of years back for a little over $100, for the sole purpose of using it for TuneECU

How long have you had it? I would only be using it for the tune and some interweb surfing. I still haven't purchased a laptop or notebook yet. So your thoughts on quality, performance etc.... are appreciated. I have been traveling for work since I had originally posted this. Things have slowed down so I will have time to do more me stuff.

I've been using it for three months now. It works great. The only issue is the battery life is around 3 hours on full charge. As far as wifi connectivity and surfing the web it does the job. It has internal memory of 32gb so not a burner by any means although Netflix, Hulu and Pandora is ran no problem. You do need a microUSB to USB2.0 dongle ($6 on Amazon) to plug the OBD2 cable to the bike. I've been pleased with it and beats walking out with full size laptop when I don't have to do so.

Buy your IT guy a 6 pack and tell him what you want to do, maybe he'll help you out! IT usually has several spare laptops laying around that they can flash when you're done, and it's always helpful to be friends with your IT guys. FWIW, I have TuneECU installed on my Samsung Galaxy Note 4 with the Lonelec cable and haven't had any problems loading tunes into my bike.

Alpental, I also have a Samsung with Android. Which tab and under what heading (map, edit, ecu) prompts the download to start & what tab promts "reset adaptations" after it is completed?
I've watched the youtube video's that show the download process on windows, n android screen/tabs are different.
I'm computer illiterate & just want to make sure i'm not screwing something up by hitting tabs I shouldn't.
Thanks
