Keeping the BEAST clean!!!!

Spray 'Gold Wash' all over the bike .. go have a cigarette , coffee .. sex with the neighbour

TC, I tried your instructions, all was going well until I went to see the neighbour then things turned bad, you must have nice neighbours.
 
I use microfiber cloths for no lint, and a product called DryShine, spray it on one cloth to apply it, wipe it off with another clean one, chrome comes out shiny, leaves a wax on the paint. I use it more for maintenance cleaning. One trick that works well, is if I know I have to ride in the rain and the bike is going to get filthy (dirt roads,construction), I spray it down with Pledge furniture polish, its puts a film on the bike, when I get home I spray it all off, takes the dirt off with it. *I have never sprayed it on the exhaust*

Me, I just ride it. The rain washes it and the wind brushes off some surface crud. I just don't spend much time cleaning it. I have limited time to ride and I spend it riding. I do the minimum necessary so that the surfaces and finishes do not become damaged. Her beauty goes waaaaaayyyyy beyond how she looks. I leave the five hour detail sessions to the Harley owners.
 
You bunch of lazy bastards, wax the effing thing first you open the container then you rub the cloth over the wax then you rub it on the bike then get a clean cloth and buff to a nice shine, everyone wants an instant shine you have to work at it.
This spray on stuff does not get into the nook and crannies so if you want a real clean bike spend some time on it.
 
If he wanted real shine, I doubt he would have gotten matte black.

To keep my bike clean, I use Eagle One's Nano Wax. Spray a little, and wipe with a micro fiber cloth. Makes knocking bugs off easier, since they don't seem to stick well with the wax on the bike. I use Pig Spit to spray the motor, and other black parts I can't reach. The whole process takes about 15 minutes or less.
 
I try to ride in the rain a few times a year, works for me.
