Jumping out of gear - HELP

Here ya go. Happy reading. That post has all the links of my saga and the eventual happy ending. BTW, I still like Stone Arrogant Bastard and nobody else does - - so more for me ha ha!

Good news is she is now at 27,000 miles and pulling strong with no popping out of any gear. I do have the high idle issue and will have the TPS replaced at 30K service.

Did you forget to buy her flowers for a birthday or an aniversary or something.
Sounds hormonal to me:(.

I'd still ask if they'll cover it under warranty or not. Seems to be that you're not the first one to have this problem.
Give Chris at T/A a call and see if he'll OK it before going to Anders.
Save all the Bullsh!t like last time happening again.

De-ten spring repair was done by a young mechanic up in Darwin , he has since moved on to f#ck knows where. No-one i have spoken to since knows exactly how he got at the spring without removing the engine ... but i can be done. Sorry i can't be of any more help mate.

Thanks Tx. Let's hope my problems aren't as serious as your were.

Thanks all. I really hope it's not a catstrophe. From what I've read and heard it sounds like that spring thing, and/or gear actuator or possibly the bolt that Goth refers to. Will let you know how I go.

The detent spring mechanisim is behind the clutch basket.

in the picture below the engine is upside down the mechanisim is in the lower left of the picture. If the engine was upright it would be in the top right hand side. you can see some of it with the basket on but you have to remove it to work on it.

Hope this helps
