Jay Leno reviews the new Speedmaster

It's funny how this turned into a tractor thread.

What's disappoint to me is the rear suspension on the Speedmaster (not the tractor). They turned it into a Harley softail lookalike.

Looks nothing like a rocket!! As for suspension, luxury, we used to dream about suspension!! Said in a Monty Pythonish way. The best Fergusson could up with was a sprung steel seat to wobble around in. Bit like the rigid frames, when men were men...……………………...

I don’t think the looks of the R3 is what put people off, it’s the intimidating size of it. Basically all Triumphs are little to me but not the Rocket.

that's looks like what we US guys call a T030

That's the one. Known as a TEA20 here. Built 46 to 56 came from retooling of wartime factories to peace time output. Suggest this machine will be in my estate sale!! Started out at about 20HP and ended up with 30 horses with the petrol standard engine. The MF35 is a leap forward in technology plus power/torque different clutch system, PTO etc and was a combination of Massey & Ferguson to build an unbeatable 3 cylinder diesel.

Nice review...perhaps a little bit too long...Jay repeats the same points over and over, but clearly he is a Triumph fan...the R3 engine may look like a tractor engine to some, but Jay is obviously enamoured with the classic Bonneville.

The marketing department would do well to pay attention to this video as it is very informative and we get a really good look and description of this bike. Perhaps Triumph is a brand that should sell itself, but it is poorly represented here in the states. One is hard pressed to find anything about Triumph bikes in magazines or publications. Maybe an ad here and there, but hardly anything that goes into depth. Magazines these days seem to be just advertisements from cover to cover. With an occasional page or two devoted to articles with any substance.

Bike looks like a little moped with a big guy on it.
Think these hipster/yuppy bikes are not for me.
