Rocket III Touring
I've been riding Hinckley Triumphs since I bought one of the first Tigers in the US in Jan 95, and was riding Meriden Triumphs (among other bikes) before that. When Triumph first introduced the 2300cc triple I thought it was beautifully ridiculous, and in 2004 I sat on one at Laguna Seca and said "one day I will own one of these beasts". But it wasn't the right time -- I was all about roadracing, and when I wasn't on the track I was adventure touring on a Tiger (after putting 50,000 miles on my '95 I swapped it for an '02). Now though, I've just turned 50 and I don't roadrace any more so the time has come. Last week I picked up a super clean 2010 Touring with only ~8500 miles on the clock and already love it. It is everything I had hoped and more. Emphasis on "more".

Cheers,

Welcome to the forum. Glad you like your touring now, you'll love it more when you get the tune that adds 30 hp.

Alrighty then. Time for more details.

Is that a software-only ECU reprogramming or does it require hardware mods (intake/exhaust/etc) as well? I already have TuneECU and the dongle for reprogramming the ECU on my '02 Tiger so if it's just a matter of map swapping I'm golden. Not that this bike needs 30 more horsepower but what the heck, why not, eh?

I guess I should just go spend some time reading the tuning forums.

I wonder if I'm going to get any work done today at all...

Let the fun begin , im betting within 12 months your particular beast would of transformed into a totally different bike reflecting your past riding interests , welcome friend

Just a tune from Wayne Tripp. No mods other than a map with Tune ECU.

Your story of coming to the Rocket is kind of like ageing fine whisky in a cask....makes it all the smoother when you get to finally taste it. Enjoy the new bike.
