Rocket III Touring
I've been riding Hinckley Triumphs since I bought one of the first Tigers in the US in Jan 95, and was riding Meriden Triumphs (among other bikes) before that. When Triumph first introduced the 2300cc triple I thought it was beautifully ridiculous, and in 2004 I sat on one at Laguna Seca and said "one day I will own one of these beasts". But it wasn't the right time -- I was all about roadracing, and when I wasn't on the track I was adventure touring on a Tiger (after putting 50,000 miles on my '95 I swapped it for an '02). Now though, I've just turned 50 and I don't roadrace any more so the time has come. Last week I picked up a super clean 2010 Touring with only ~8500 miles on the clock and already love it. It is everything I had hoped and more. Emphasis on "more". :)

Cheers,

Welcome to the forum. Glad you like your touring now, you'll love it more when you get the tune that adds 30 hp.

Alrighty then. Time for more details. :)

Is that a software-only ECU reprogramming or does it require hardware mods (intake/exhaust/etc) as well? I already have TuneECU and the dongle for reprogramming the ECU on my '02 Tiger so if it's just a matter of map swapping I'm golden. Not that this bike needs 30 more horsepower but what the heck, why not, eh?

I guess I should just go spend some time reading the tuning forums.

I wonder if I'm going to get any work done today at all...

Just a tune from Wayne Tripp. No mods other than a map with Tune ECU.

Your story of coming to the Rocket is kind of like ageing fine whisky in a cask....makes it all the smoother when you get to finally taste it. Enjoy the new bike.
