Here is the description of the issues -
#1. **Jog dial button getting stuck in the bottom position.**
#2. **Attempting to fix it caused the button to touch automatically.**
This is my second left-hand switch assembly; the first had the same issue and was replaced under warranty last year from Triumph. The joystick’s "right checkmark button" (below the blinker) kept getting stuck in the bottom position. After a year, the same issue occurred with the replacement, but since it's out of warranty, I had no choice either fix it myself or buy brand new one again.
Cost of left handlebar assembly is ~250USD + labor as well + one day off from work + travel to other city etc.
They have exact same switch cube assembly on all models of new triumph motorcycles its just with little variations but they are all pretty much same inside.
To resolve this, I opened the switch cube, repaired the jog dial button, and replaced it with sturdier parts ( Ordered new buttons "made in france" , soldered them and now its working as brand new.).
The white little buttons ( red cricle) on the jog dial are soft and poorly made compared to the heavy-duty(orange) ones on the rest of the assembly which runs pass/cruise/blinkers/horn etc. its just the Jog Dial white buttons are very weak and not as rugged steardy as other orange buttons. These white buttons dont have much of life as compare to other orange buttons.
FYI the white buttons are IP65 ratings which are coming in brand new OEM switch cube assembly and the replacement I found are exact same but costlier and 'made in france'
Its a design flaw as the jog dial is hard plastic and every click you make on jog dial button will hit the white button top and eventually plastic will cut through rubber tip of button. But companies seems to not care for longevity as they know once product is out of warranty you must buy new one and thats how they make billions in out of warranty OEM parts sales.
You can kind of avoid it by putting lubes which will increase the life of top white rubber part of white button and reduce friction of Jog dial button so you put minimum amount of force to activate buttons while using jog dial.
