Is my oil drain plug busted?

I just ordered all 3, who knows what the other ones are going to look like when I pull them out..

Now for everyone's favorite question on all vehicle related forums.. What Oil should I run?!

The transmission likes 50 weight oil. If yours is a eralier Rockets 15W50 4RT fully synthetic for wet clutches is what was specified. The two sump screen oil plugs (1 front right and 2 rear left are the same.) Hopefully they didn't damage the thread. The front left plug is the one for oil tank and main rail drain. Only one other style od sump plate is on the 2004 and early 2005 silver engines.

Oil threads are like Politics and Religion. The current Triumph recommended oil is Castrol 4T Full Syn 10W/50. I have used it since the Mobil 1 15W/50 was no longer available. Manny Many years now. No transmission troubles at all in my 2006 Standard. If you can find 15W/50 4T full Syn and you are OK with that brand, go with that. Just so you know in my 50 years of motorcycling I am not a fan of anything for the "W" side lower weight than 10 and I believe the other side at 40 weight is to light. In my much older classic bikes I always used Castrol Motorcycle 20W/50. Today's synthetic oils are much better, so the 10W/50 Castrol works fine for me.

Ok, so dumb question but your answer seems to imply that the gearbox and engine share the same oil? Is that accurate?
