Is anybody using this oil filter?

i've never tried a washable oil filter. my concern would be that i would'nt get all the crud out of it, not to mention the extra time needed to service the thing. personally, i like to be able to unscrew the old, install the fresh clean filter, and be done with it in almost no time. i hear that the K&N filers are also excellent. i have wondered if the nut on the end of the K&N allows the chrome cover to install correctly though.

hi,

The tense is correct, maybe I should had said 'I have had it....', just know that the filter works very well and takes about a minute with solvent and air hose to clean. It looks better than the stock chrome cover, does the job extremely well and I don't have to worry about having an oil filter if I decide to change oil on a weekend. I am lucky and get the oil and other bits (as the Brits would say) really cheap so I do that a fair amount (about every 1500 miles, yes, I do know that is extreme overkill, but so's a ROCKET).

The filter also has a magnet in it for picking up the smaller chunks.

The K&N will NOT allow use of the chrome cover, but it's the size not the nut.

I still have the big red lady and she's pissed. I put her away for the Chicago winter on Saturday. She looks so forlorn on a stand and under a cover. Winter is time to get out of Chicago or just hunker down in the shop and play with things mechanical.

I have it on mine.

Love the looks of it.

No problems with it so far. Don't really expect any problems. This is a high quality product. IMO.

Have one on My Rocket and wifes SpeedMaster same filter. I clean them with PD680 dry cleaning solvent and a ultasonic tub . After a few minutes in the tub I take the screen out and run the solvent through a paint filter funnel to check for metal , run a magnet through the solvent as it drains. just over 10000 on one and 1200 on the other.
