Installed TORS today

I have put TORs on my Rocket and really like the sound. So do my buddies. The previous pipes I had on my America were loud and I always heard complaints from the fellows following me. They would bark. The TORs on the Roadster are another matter. Everyone loves the sound from the bike. Not obnoxious and I'm not left hearing deprived at the end of a days ride.

I wish Triumph would provide a couple of options as to the length of the pipes. The TORs for the Thunderbird and America/Speedy come in several lengths and styles. The Rocket deserves some selection also. It would be nice if Arrow would make a Triumph endorsed performance exhaust for the Rocket from the headers back too for those days when noise isn't an issue. :)

Just got back from my rideout and to be honest the TORS are a bit louder than the OEM, but
not massively, they probably sound better / louder to someone behind rather than the actual
rider in my opinion
If they a new set of TORS they will get slightly louder after a few 1000Ks and get a deeper note as well.

They shouldn't ?, or is it because they begin to rot from the inside out after a few 1000Ks

They do and I am sure others have said the same thing it maybe the packing in the baffle burns in ? or the smaller holes in the perforated mesh blocks up with carbon , but the tone definitely improves after a bit of a long run ,I "'run" my set in last October going to and from RDU Victoria and could notice the difference on the way home ,even Hanso said it sounded nice and coming from a long term Rocket Man that was a compliment.

My TORs sound improved a LOT during a few weeks of very motivated driving...

This is an mp3 audio file of my TORs at full acceleration, about 0-160 km. Max RPM is 6700, Ramair filter is mounted.
I had to pack it into a .zip file so I could upload it. Hope its no hassle to open it. Great as a ringtone for my mobile :D

So what do the TORS actually run, cost-wise, when bought off the shelf? I'm not a fan of super loud myself, but my Touring is a tad too civilized even for my tastes. Been thinking TORS or D&D, but the D&D are supposedly a fair bit louder. Plus, shipping from the US would drive the cost up.

In OZ a set of TORS for the Touring cost me A$310 with new gasket rings ,that included freight and dealers costs , I think you can do better than that if you look around ,the TORS on the Touring eliminate the Cats that are in the stock Silencers, so I only ride "off road" being the law abiding tree hugging environmentalist I am:cautious::rolleyes::laugh:

I actually am a bit of a tree-hugging environmentalist, but that problem will never be solved by private individuals acting on their own anyway. Well, frankly, won't get solved at all in time because of the massive inertia in society.

So may as well enjoy the ride now and be secure in the knowledge I have no kids, and I don't care about your kids or their kids. Screw them, I'm riding here. :p Gotta look around and see where to get some TORS, clearly.

Edit: ouch. 375£ on Worldoftriumph, which is about $560, plus shipping. Still better than D&D pricing.

@croft do you have a dealership in Finlandia? They'll be cheaper there than world of triumph I think. If not, check one of the EU dealerships. The euro isn't nearly as strong as the BSP. I had an extra set, but sold them last year. Check EBay too; that's where I picked both of mine up.
