idle stall and warm up?

How long do you let your bike warm up in the morning before riding?

As a new bike it's also very tight, and while the 12 minute tune will help, it will loosen up with miles as well.

If traveling and leaving a motel = no warmup, just ride slow & easy for a few minutes.
Otherwise it idles for the time it takes me to zip up jacket, mount & strap my helmet and put on my gloves.

I usually fire up (in case it decides to play naughty) then roll down to the street - walk back up (10metres-ish) to close doors etc, put on lid and gloves then ride off. My first mile from home is all pretty slow riding so the oil gets a chance to circulate before getting much more than 10% throttle - probably not even 5% often. Do similar if it's stood overnight. Other wise start and ride off gently the first km or so.

Mine would do odd things when new - abruptly stopped misbehaving at 5000km.

Usually start and go,but I have a 3/10 mi. driveway (semi-sandy) so it's a gentle ride to the street

@xrays I ride year round here in Northern Virginia. I have no garage to keep the bike. If the bike starts in the morning, it gets around 2 minutes of warm up before I even get on the bike. I use that time to put the cover away, load my lunch box in the bag and get my heated gear plugged in.

Because your bike is brand new, the TPS may also be needing adjustment. When mine was new, the bike would die every time I rolled the throttle back. The dealer fixed it in a few minutes after plugging into the bike.

Boog brings up a good point, many rockets are delivered with the TPS technically within spec, but still slightly miss adjusted from optimal. It’s not picky to get it perfect but it does help stabilize idle and make the on/off throttle transition a bit smoother.

Like the 2 previous posts, I agree with the TPS. And being the same adjustment, the IACV adjustment. The sometimes troublesome "stepper" motor is supposed to hold a higher idle, until the temp reaches a set point, then settle down to the set idle.
